VAN SOELEN - At the Woodstock Private Hospital on Tuesday August 4, 2009. Hermanus Marius Van Soelen of Woodstock in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Hilda (nee Koenderink) Van Soelen and the late Willelmina (nee Nyhoff) Van Soelen (1982). Dear father of Anna VandenBrink and her husband Hank of Sparta, Wilma Ykema and her husband Gary of Eastwood, Betty Devries and her husband Dick of Hamilton, Joan Desira and her husband Tar of Peterborough and Albert Van Soelen (Wendy Wilson) of Woodstock and step father of Johannes Hellemond and his wife Lois of Nanaimo, BC, Alida Calaghan and her husband George of PEI and Albert Hellemond and his wife Shirley of Oshawa. Loved Opa of twenty grandchildren and thirty one great grandchildren. Hermanus immigrated to Canada in May of 1955 He dairy farmed in the Mt. Elgin area for many years and was a longtime member of Emmanuel Reformed Church. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday August 6, 2009 from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Emmanuel Reformed Church, 170 Clarke St., Woodstock on Friday at 11:00 am with Pastor Abram Blaak officiating. A private family interment in the Harris St. Cemetery, Ingersoll. Contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
