2 Timothy 4:7
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
In our deep sorrow, the Lord has taken from our midst, our dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Born on March 5, 1938, in Zelhem, Holland, he passed away peacefully on the morning of May 31, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joan Oosterink. He was a loving father to Jeanette Mulder (Ted), Diana Vandermeer (Gord), John Oosterink (passed away in 2008), Sandra Oosterink, Linda Oosterveld (Rob). He was an incredible grandpa to Justin Mulder (Alicia) Jordon Vandermeer (Bridget), Tim Vandermeer (Alyssa), Brianna Depatie (Paul), Victoria Cameron (Jonny), Kaitlyn Hill (Alex), Mariah Oosterveld (Derek), Karli Oosterveld (Mark), Shayna Oosterink (Jason), Chelsea Oosterink (Tim), and to 15 great-grandchildren.
Bill spent 35 hardworking years as the manager of the Cold Springs Farm Hatchery, but his true love was family, and his passion was music.
His God-given gift of music carried on to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bill played the accordion for many years. For over 50 years, he played the organ at the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Woodstock, as well as for many weddings and funerals throughout the community.
The family would like to thank the loving and caring PSWs who came to their home, the staff at the Family Transition Program (Arches), and especially the love from the Palliative Unit at Woodstock Hospital.
