Helen Elizabeth (Adams) Macleod

MACLEOD, Helen (nee Adams)- Passed away peacefully at Woodstock Hospital on Thursday May 11, 2017 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the Late Alexander MacLeod (1997). Loving mother of Malcolm (Deborah McGuire) MacLeod, Mary MacLeod, and Michael (Diane) MacLeod. Cherished grandmother of Caitlin MacLeod, Mallory MacLeod, Gordon MacLeod, Nora MacLeod, Erin (Shawn) Nguyen, Matthew MacLeod, and Jenna MacLeod. Predeceased by her granddaughter Laura Elizabeth MacLeod (1987), and her siblings George Adams, Mae McNab, and Dorothy Lewis. Survived by her many nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered by Deborah Messeroll-MacLeod, and Heather Purvis Helen spent many years as a teacher where her favourite grade was grade two. As a wife of a United Church minister, Helen was heavily active in the church as a life member of the U.C.W. Many will remember the excitement she brought with her colourful and fun hats, being affectionately known as "The Hat Lady." Helen was an avid volunteer, dedicating much of her time to those at the end of life. She will be missed by all those she touched. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the St. David's United Church, 190 Springbank Ave, Woodstock, on Monday May 15th, 2017 from 1 pm to 2 pm where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Cremation has taken place. If desired, memorial contributions to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation, St. David's Memorial Fund, or the V.O.N.
