Mighton, Harold Stephen - After a full and interesting life, Harold's daughters Nancy and Jan sadly announce his peaceful death, on November 13, 2010 at Parkwood Veterans Hospital, London Ontario. We have lost the best story teller we have ever known. Harold was born at Muir, Ontario on April 5, 1922 to Winnifred Fletcher Mighton and William Esbin Garfield Mighton. Predeceased by his grandsons Timothy Andrew Springstead (1988) and Matthew Jesse Springstead (1997) as well as his sisters Olive Thorne and Glenna Nelson and brothers Arthur and Edward. Harold is survived by his daughter Nancy (Dan) Springstead and Jan (Ted) Sinclair, grandsons Shawn (Shannon) Sinclair and Josh (Laura Mundinger) Sinclair and great granddaughter Audrey Sinclair. Harold leaves behind sister Victoria Scalisi and his brother Jim as well as brother-in-law Doug Nelson and sister-in-law Pat Stephens and several beloved nieces and nephews. Harold served in the RCAF in World War II and had a full career in accounting at Truck Engineering, the Oxford County Board of Education and Ontario Housing as Manager until retirement. Harold enjoyed travellling with his beloved wife Nola Evans. His legacy is found in his stories that hopefully will be shared. Harold fathered with full commitment and we are so proud of our Dad. Friends will be received at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Tuesday November 16, 2010 from 2:30 - 4:30 and 7-9 pm.
