BIGHAM, H. Blanche (Piett) -in her 95th year passed away in Etobicoke General Hospital, Toronto on Tuesday February 8, 2011. Born July 10, 1916 in West Zorra, Oxford. She was the daughter of Ray S. Piett and Maude (Chenoweth) Piett. She moved from West Hill, Scarborough, Toronto to Cambrocourt Manor, Embro in 1997. She had been employed as an assistant at a dentists office in West Hill for many years. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Church, Brooksdale and is a former member of Grace Presbyterian Church, West Hill, Toronto where she sang in their choir for 33 years. Blanche was an avid ball player for the Oxford Presbyterian team as well as the local team. She is survived by two sons Paul Bigham of Hamilton, Brent and his wife Val Bigham of Oshawa, her "summer daughter" Doreen, wife of Ernie Lund of Brampton, and three grandchildren; Tasha, Julie and Jeremy Bigham and two great grandchildren Gage and Meghan. Blanche is also survived by her sister-in-law Helen E. Piett of "Chen-O-Way Farm", RR1 Embro and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Roy S. Piett (1985), Stuart (Christine) Piett (2000), sister Ferne (Roy) Brookfield (1998). She enjoyed attending the Embro Friendship Club, Brooksdale United Church Women and Brooksdale Womens Institute. Friends will be received by the family at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave. on Saturday, February 12, 2011 after 1pm where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel at 2pm with Rev. Douglas Peck officiating. Interment later in the Spring of 2011 at the North Embro Cemetery.
