BENDIG, Gustav - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family on Friday May 5th, 2017 in his 91st year at Sakura House in Woodstock. Beloved husband of Helen Bendig (nee Grandoni). Loving father of Dianna (Bill) Chandler, Donna Brull (Randy Roberts), Marianne Bendig (Benoé®t Boutet) and Brian (Trish) Bendig. Cherished grandfather of Courtney, Alex, Megan, Lee, Natalie, Stephanie, Hannah and Nathan. Forever missed by his sister Erna Wilks, and brother Albert (Rose Stacey) Bendig. Gustav is predeceased by his parents Henry and Mary Bendig, brothers Sigfried Bendig, Bill Bendig, Clarence Bendig and sisters Hilda Elkie and Hadie Schroeder . Gustav was police officer with the OPP serving Oxford County for over 30 years. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday May 11th, 2017 from 10am-10:45am where the Memorial Service will take place at 11am in the chapel of the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004). If desired, memorial contributions to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or Sakura House would be appreciated and may be arranged through the funeral home.
