With great sadness, Greg’s family announces his unexpected passing while at work on Friday December 13, 2024 at the age of 56. Cherished husband and best friend of Vicki Smith (nee Beacham), with whom he shared 33 wonderful years. Loving father of Amy Mecke (David), Adam Smith (Katherine) and Abbey Smith, and proud Grandpa to Kolton. Beloved son of Carol and the late Robert Smith (2006). Dear brother of Stephen (Krystal), Kevin (Heather), Dwayne, Andrew (Jennifer) and brother-in-law of Randy (Eva), Cindy (Greg), and Heather (Rick). Greg will be fondly remembered as a favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews, who were all special to him. He will be greatly missed by his faithful companions, Max, Minnie and Mya.

Greg worked for the past 15 years for General Dynamics, London as a welder, and he will be missed by his colleagues there. Outside of work, Greg loved the outdoors – camping, dirt-biking, BBQ-ing and summer days spent at the trailer in Kincardine. At his heart, Greg was a family man. He was a jokester, liked to make people laugh and enjoyed having everyone together – he loved nothing more than time with his family.

Friends and family will gather for a celebration of Greg’s life on Sunday, December 22 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 55, 642 Dundas St., Woodstock from 1-4pm. For those who wish, memorial donations can be made in Greg’s memory to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada. Arrangements entrusted to the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Woodstock (519)539-0004
