Grada (Ruiterkamp) Rood

ROOD, Grada E. (nee Ruiterkamp) – Gone to be with her Lord and Savior; peacefully at Hilltop Manor, Cambridge on Saturday July 6, 2024, at 104 years of age. She will lovingly be remembered by her children; Herma (Ron) Savard, Grace (Henry) Bruines, John (Patricia) Rood, Bill (Cheryl) Rood, and her stepchildren, Elly (Hans) Zegerius, Jenny (Jim) Tonin, Art (Kim) Van Asselt, John (Dorothy) Van Asselt, 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her first husband Gerry Rood (1976) and second husband Gerry Van Asselt (2007), and stepdaughter Wendy Prouse (2015). Friends are welcome to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Tuesday July 9, 2024, from 4 – 7 pm. A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Reformed Church, 170 Clarke St., Woodstock, on Wednesday at 11:00 am. A private family interment service will take place in the Burgessville Baptist Cemetery prior to the service. If desired, memorial contributions to the Countryside Camp and Conference Centre (Camp Shalom) or a charity of one’s choice would be gratefully acknowledged.
