Gerald Wayne Schram, known to most as Gerry, was born on a winter's day in February, 1938. On October 7, 2023, he peacefully took his final bow at Woodstock General Hospital. His life was a song, a melody of love, intelligence, and conviction that resonated in the hearts of all who knew him.
Gerry was a man of wisdom, unique interests, and strength. His mind was a library, filled with tales of past and present, and his words painted pictures that danced in the minds of those who listened. His conversations were journeys, his debates were adventures, and his stories were treasures to be held close to the heart.
Gerry's love story was a symphony, composed with his beloved Jacqueline. Together, they danced through life, hand in hand, heart to heart, until her last breath in September 2018. Their love was a testament to devotion, a melody that played through their children: Bonnie Hughes, John Schram ( Gisele ), and Sandra Schram.
Each child was a verse in Gerry's life song, a unique melody that added depth and richness to the symphony of his life. They, in turn, added harmonies with the birth of his grandchildren: Jessica (Chase), Matthew, Jerry, Patrick, and Katelyn (Dylan). The song of his life echoed in the laughter of his great-grandchildren, Savanah, Jackson, and Anthony, each one a note in the grand composition of his legacy.
Gerry's life was a chorus, echoed by his brother, Dick Schram (Marie), and his sister, Linda Miller (late Homer). They, along with his nephews, nieces and cousins, shared the rhythm of family, the harmony of shared memories, and the melody of shared love. His late sister, Janet, added her own verse to the song.

Gerry's life was a composition of intelligence and interest, a ballad that told the story of a man who lived with purpose, loved with passion, and left a legacy that will echo in the hearts of his loved ones. His song may have ended, but his melody lingers on, an original refrain that will forever be remembered.

And so, we say goodbye to Gerry, our beloved patriarch, our guide, our mentor. His song has ended, but his melody lingers on. In the hearts of those who loved him, his song will always play, a resounding symphony of love, intelligence, and determination.
