Gerald Edward Richmond
, a faith-filled and generous man, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2023 in Thamesford, Ontario after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Born on July 9, 1936 in London, Ontario, Gerald was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing.
Gerald is survived by his devoted wife, Marilyn Richmond, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised three loving children: Carol Houlton (Scott), Barbara Richmond (Ray), John Richmond (Stephanie) and daughter in law Janet Cook. Gerald was also a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride throughout his life.
Gerald's dedication to his family was matched only by his unwavering commitment to his work and his community. He enjoyed a long and successful career in industrial engineering at General Motors, where he made significant contributions to the company and forged lasting friendships with his colleagues.
In his spare time, Gerald pursued interests in sailing and carpentry. He spent countless hours navigating the waters with his family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of joining him. His skill in carpentry allowed him to build their family home along with many beautiful, functional pieces that will continue to be treasured by all of his family and friends.
Above all, Gerald's faith in Jesus was the cornerstone of his life. His unwavering devotion to his faith guided him through both the joys and challenges he faced, providing him with a sense of peace, purpose, and hope. Gerald's faith-filled life served as an inspiration to all who knew him, and his legacy of generosity, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Gerald's love for his family was evident in all aspects of his life. His children and grandchildren will remember him as a loving father and grandfather, always ready with a word of encouragement, a helping hand, or a warm embrace. Gerald's wife, Marilyn, will forever cherish the love and support they provided each other throughout their long and happy marriage.

Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for visitation on Wednesday, May 24th, From 10:00am to 11:00am at Brock and Visser Funeral Home in Thamesford, Ontario. The funeral service will begin, in the funeral home chapel, at 11:00am.
