BATEMAN- Peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday October 28th 2011. Gerald E. Bateman of Embro in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of M. Doreen Bateman (nee Adams). Dear father of David Bateman of Calgary, AB, Wayne Bateman (Carol) of Milton, ON, Cheryl Betrand (Kevin) of Scotland, ON., and the late Larry Bateman (1996). Loved grandfather of Denise Bateman (Manish), Dana Colman (Scott), Devon Bateman (Bob), Matthew and Jessica Bateman, Ryan and Daniel Bateman, Brandon, Quinton and Cory Bertrand. Cherished great grandfather of Max and Tyson Colman, Mena and Shriya Bhatt. Survived by a daughter-in-law Margie Bateman of London, sisters Mearle Richardson and Ruby Johnson and sister-in-law Helen Collins (Leon). Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Marion Morton and Evelyn Richardson. Gerald was employed with the Oxford County Board of Education for nearly 30 years. Friends may call at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 1:30 pm with Rev. Judy Campbell of Knox United Church, Embro officiating. Interment at North Embro Cemetery.
