George Frederick Stevens

STEVENS - At Caressant Care Nursing Home on Saturday January17, 2004. George F. Stevens formerly of Graham St., Woodstock in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Doris L. Stevens (nee Biddlecomb). Dear father of Pat James of Woodstock and Dr. Gerald Stevens and his wife Karen of California. Loved grandfather of John(Nicole), Jason, Chris(Chanda), Ben(Nichelle) and Susan and great grandfather of Cole, Tovah, Desiree, Nicholas and Shaelynn. Dear brother of Marjorie Gibbons and her husband Ken of California and Jim Gray and companion Gladys of Windsor. Predeceased by his parents John Stevens and Lillian Stevens Gray and brothers Jack and Bill Stevens and Tom Gray. George was employed at York Knitting Mills for over 45 years. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during WW II and was a former member of the Craigowan Golf and County Club. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (539-0004) on Tuesday 2:30- 4:30 and 7-9 pm where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel Wednesday at 11:00 am with Venerable James Dugan officiating. Interment later in the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
