GRIFFIN, George A. - At the Woodstock General Hospital on Tuesday May 17, 2011. George Alfred Griffin of Woodstock in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Jane (nee Howlett) Griffin for nearly 47 years. Dear father of Jennifer Griffin and her husband Peter Mastrangelo, Joan Griffin all of Etobicoke and Christopher Griffin and his wife Linda Gromeder of Guelph. Loved grandfather of Sarah and Sophia Mastrangelo and will be remembered by his nephews Jay and Brent Howlett. George taught English and Drama at Huron Park Secondary School, Woodstock for many years, was an active member of TTOS and was an avid enthusiast of model railroads. Friends are welcome to join the family at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday May 20, 2011 from 12:30 - 1:30 pm, where a memorial service to celebrate George's life will be held in the chapel on Friday at 1:30 pm. Cremation has taken place. Interment later in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Kitchener. If desired, contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
