DAKIN, George R.- At his residence on Thursday, April 28 2011, George Robert Dakin of Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Joyce M. Dakin (nee Stevens) for over 41years. Dear father of Carol (Wray) Coulson of Ingersoll, Robert (Louise) of Dover Centre, Janice (Frank) Ward of Chatham, and step father of Janice Packer of St. Williams, Pat (Jim) Hughes of Tillsonburg and Rick (Sarah) Hughes of Mapleton. And father-in-law to Wilbur jr. Schnelle (Joanne) of Georgia. Loved grandfather of many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Also survived by his brother John Dakin of Oxford Centre, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Lily Perry, step-son Ronald Hughes, step-daughter Judy Schnelle, granddaughter Kimberley Roos, granddaughter-in-law Diane Wagner-Roos and step son-in-law Brian Master. George was a longtime member of the Plowman's Association of Oxford County, Antique Tractor Plowman's Association, Past President of the Standard Tube Credit Union as well as a member of the Woodstock Agriculture Society. Friends will be received at the Longworth Funeral Home 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock 519-539-0004 on Sunday, May 1st 2011, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where the funeral service will be held in the chapel Monday at 11:00 am with Rev. Bill White officiating. Interment in the Oxford Centre Anglican Cemetery.
