Frederick George Harpell

Harpell, Frederick George Sr. – passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at Bluewater Health, Sarnia in his 89th year. Loving husband of the late Joyce (nee Underhay) Harpell (1988). Dear father of Shelly (Greg) Roi, Sherry (Charlie Korzeniewski) Harpell, and Susan (Steve) Mitchell. Cherished grandfather of Patrick (Erica Gilmore) Roi, Scott (Jennifer) Mitchell, Jamie (Alex) Mitchell, Jenny (Clay Powell) Mitchell, Adam Harpell, Andrew (Christina Fazio) Harpell, Jamie-Lee (Zack McDonald) Harpell. Proud great grandfather of 4. Also survived by his daughter in law Shelly Harpell and his sister in law Susan Underhay and niece Elizabeth (Jeff) Scheniman . and many beloved grand dogs. Predeceased by his son Fred Harpell Jr. (2014); sister Jean (Lloyd) Orstead and Brothers in law Oz Underhay and Bruce Underhay.  Fred Sr. was a lifetime member of OCNVA (Oxford County Naval Veterans Association}, Woodstock. A very special thank you to the staff at Bluewater Health 4th floor Telemetry and Stroke and 5th floor Palliative Care.  We would also like to thank the the truly amazing staff at Fiddick's Nursing Home, Barcley Lane Unit, for all the wonderful care Fred received this past 16 months. As per Fred’s Wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.  In Lieu of flowers, donations to VON Sakura House, Woodstock, Palliative Care at Bluewater Health, Sarnia and OCNVA, Woodstock would be appreciated and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home (519-539-0004).
