Frederick Alfred Smith

SMITH- At Woodingford Lodge (Woodstock) and formerly of the "Homestead" on Phelan Street and R.R.# 8 Woodstock on Tuesday, October 2, 2007. Frederick "Fred" A. Smith of Woodstock in his 99th year. Beloved husband of Phyllis R. Smith (nee LaSalle). Loved father of Gloria Smith of Toronto, Brenda Nancekivell and her husband Ken of Thamesford, Sheila Picknell and her husband Ian of Woodstock, and Tamy Smith of Toronto. Cherished grandfather of Nathan, Chad, Chandra, Justin, Zianne and Tanya. Great grandpa of Chloe. Fred is predeceased by his sisters Hilda White, Mabel Jackson, Leta Johnson, Mildred Smith, Madeline Smith, and Selena Smith and by his brothers John and Walter Smith. Fred was a longtime member of Oxford Baptist Church and always had a genuine love for his Lord. He was always a willing volunteer to sing at nursing homes, funerals, and anywhere the opportunity arose and was also well known for his herbal remedies. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Oxford Baptist Church, 278 Hunter Street, Woodstock on Friday, October 5, 2007 at 1:30 pm. Interment Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery.
