HENDERSHOTT- Surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday March 13th 2012, in the peaceful surroundings of Sakura House. Fred Leroy Hendershott of Woodstock in his 88th year. Beloved husband of the late Rose Irene Hendeshott (nee O'Connell)(1999) and beloved companion and best friend of Elsie Gunter. Dear father of Melvin (Darlene), Brenda (Fred) Samways, Rick (Kim), Patti (Darryl) Hanmer, Dale (Sue), and Julie (Brad) Watson. Loved grandfather of 16 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and will be missed by several nieces, nephews and Elsie's family. Predeceased by brothers, Basil, Lorne, Charlie, Frank, Harvey, Cecil and a sister Jean Simmons. Fred was a veteran of WW II (Prisoner of War), was a member of the Woodstock Curling Club, the Oxford County Naval Veterans Association and was an avid Golfer. Fred retired from Massey Ferguson in 1984 where he was employed for over 36 years. Friends may call at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Saturday March 17th 2012 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm where the funeral service will be held in the chapel Sunday March 18th at 2:00 pm with Father Richard Dales of Holy Trinity Catholic Church officiating.
