Floyd Gordon Budd

August 12, 1951 — July 1, 2024

Floyd Gordon Budd, a cherished soul known affectionately as Floyd to his loved ones, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2024, at the age of 72 in Woodstock, Ontario. Born in Ingersoll, Ontario, on August 12, 1951, to the late Arthur and Madge, Floyd’s life was one of dedication, joy, and the simple pleasures that come from a life well-lived.

Floyd is survived by his loving spouse, Rachel, and their beautiful family, including his daughters, Shona and Heather (Myles), and his son, Glenn. He held a special place in his heart for his step-sons, Dwayne, Jason, and Nathan, and his grandchildren, Wyatt, Mariah, and Seth, who brought him immeasurable happiness. Floyd was preceded in death by his granddaughter Leah, who he now joins in eternal peace. He will also be fondly remembered by his siblings, Jean (Walter), Ronald (Cathy), Lorna (Andy), Helen, and Marion (Dan), along with his sister-in-law, Francis (Ron), and brothers-in-law, Bill (Carrie) and Chris (Glennis). His love for his family was paralleled only by the affection he held for his cherished cats, Midnight and Meu.

Floyd's career was marked by his long-standing commitment to IMT-Ingersoll Machine & Tool, where he not only contributed his skills and work ethic but also formed lasting friendships and associations. He was a respected colleague and a friend to many, known for his reliability and kind-hearted nature.

Beyond his professional life, Floyd was a man of many interests. His passion for cars and trains was more than a hobby—it was a reflection of his appreciation for craftsmanship and the beauty of innovation. Nature was another source of solace and inspiration for Floyd, and he spent countless hours enjoying the great outdoors. His love for music was evident to anyone who heard his voice fill the room during karaoke sessions, where he shared his joy for singing with everyone around him.

Floyd’s generosity of spirit extended beyond his family and friends—he was always ready to lend a hand and help others in any way he could. His presence in the community will be deeply missed, but the impact of his kindness will continue to resonate with all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to Celebrate Floyd’s life at Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Monday, July 8, 2024 from 2pm to 4pm.
