Ewhen Alexander Chorostil

CHOROSTIL, Ewhen Alexander Ewhen Alexander Chorostil of Woodstock passed away at University Hospital, London on May 10, 2017 in his 81st year of life, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband Paula (nee Koval). Loving father of Roman (Simone), Markian (Melody-Anne) and Nadya (Andrew). Beloved Dido (grandpa) of Erika, Lauren, Cameron, Alexander, GianLuca and Larissa. Caring uncle of many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his brothers and sisters in law. Ewhen was predeceased by his parents Jaroslaw and Ohla. Ewhen taught for many years at Woodstock Collegiate Institute. After retirement, he was happy to be a full-time Dido (grandpa) and continued his teaching tradition with his grandchildren. He was also a cantor at the Ukrainian Catholic Church for many years, melding his love for song and religion. Ewhen enjoyed skiing, sailing, biking and hunting. In later years, he travelled with Paula to countries and cultures he had always hoped to experience in person. Friends will be received at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home,845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Sunday May 14, 2017 from 6-8pm. Prayers will be held in the chapel at 7:30pm. The funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish on Monday May 15, 2017 at 11:00am with Father Richard Dales and Father Roman Galadza offficating.
