Ethel Mae (Atkinson) Barker

BARKER, Ethel - Passed away at her residence on Friday January 2, 2015. Ethel Mae (nee Atkinson) Barker of Caressant Care, Woodstock and formerly of RR# 5, Woodstock in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Earl E. Barker (1999). Loving mother of Anna Shellington and her late husband Robert (2004) and Albert Barker and his wife Yokie. Cherished grandmother of Louise Fellows (Don), Gerald Shellington (Faye), Donna Dobberstein, Bryan Shellington (Heather), Vicki Barker-Handscombe (Andrew) and great grandmother of nine and great great grandmother of three. Dear sister of Charles Atkinson. Predeceased by her two brothers; Frances and Arthur. Ethel was a dedicated member of the Eastwood United Church where she had been the President of the UCW for over 40 years. Ethel was also an active fund raiser for the Canadian Cancer Society canvassing in Woodstock and the rural area for many years. Friends are invited to meet with the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock 519-539-0004 on Tuesday January 6, 2014 from 2:30 - 4:30 and 7 - 9pm, where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 1:30 pm with Rev. Maya Landell officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment later in the Princeton Cemetery.
