Eric Wayne Mingo

Passed away peacefully in his 79th year on Sunday, December 24th, 2023, with the love of family by his side at Woodstock General Hospital.

Much loved husband of Dianne Pearl Mingo (Wettlaufer) for over 39 years. Beloved father of April (Hugh) Fawcett and pre-deceased by his son David (Joan) van Raalte, Brenda (Randy) Bishop. Cherished grandfather of Adam (Lisa) Thorn, Ashley (Matt) Barendrecht, Dawson van Raalte, Matthew van Raalte, Michelle (Drew) Almost, and Jessica (Brendan) Postma, and great-grandfather to many great-grandchildren. Eric is survived by brother Marlow (Linda) Mingo and several nieces and nephews. Eric is predeceased by his parents Myron and Jean Mingo, sister Bev (Bill) Churcher and brother Steve Mingo, in-laws Lynn and Pearl Wettlaufer.

Eric retired with over 40 years of service as a Grand-Master mechanic at Anderson Pontiac GM.  Eric served for many years as a loyal member of the Moose Lodge 1141 and helped create the Moose Family Centre here in Woodstock.  He was proud of what the Moose stood for and worked tirelessly to help support the children at Mooseheart and the seniors at Moosehaven.  Eric held many roles and titles, including Past Deputy Supreme Governor and was presented with Pilgrim for all his dedication and years of service to the Moose fraternity.

A private family service has already taken place.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
