Emile J.P. Cliche

March 9, 1952 — July 28, 2023

Emilien J.P. Cliche, "Emile", a deeply cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2023, in Woodstock, Ontario at the age of 71 . Born on March 9, 1952, in Bellecombe, Quebec, Emile was a beacon of kindness, and creativity, whose spirit will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.

Emile was the beloved son of the late Jean Gerrish, who passed away in 2013. His love story with Anne (nee Dunnell), his wife and best friend, was one for the ages. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and music. Emile was a proud father to Aaron (Annie), Chantel (Amie), and Victoria (Jaymie), and a doting grandfather to Adrian, Liam, Layla, Harry, Sebastian, and Atlas. He is  survived by a brother, several cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Emile was a man of many talents and interests, but his love for animals, particularly his dog Sakima, and his passion for music stood out the most. He was a gifted musician who generously shared his talent, bringing joy and harmony to the world around him. His performances were not only a testament to his skill but also a reflection of his generous spirit and the joy he derived from making others happy.

During his lifetime, Emile touched countless lives with his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand. His genuine care and concern for others were evident in every interaction, no matter how small, making him a treasured friend to many. Emile's legacy is not only his family but also the countless friendships he cultivated throughout his life. His heart was always open, and his home was a haven for all those who knew him.

In the face of loss, we find comfort in remembering the life Emile lived and the love he shared. His kindness, creativity, and generosity were not just qualities but a way of life for him.  Emile was a man who loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. His memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to have known him. His spirit lives on in the music he made, the love he shared, and the lives he touched. As we say our goodbyes to Emile, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a legacy that will continue to inspire.

Family will receive  friends on Tuesday, August 1 at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home from 6-8pm, and on Wednesday August 2 from 12-2pm, at which time a service celebrating Emilie’s life will take place in the funeral home chapel.  Cremation to follow.
