MONTGOMERY, Ellen Irene (nee Johnson) October 08, 1925 - November 05, 2012. Peacefully in her 88th year, at Woodstock Hospital with her best friends and her sisters by her side. Born in Beatty, Saskatchewan. Daughter of the late Oscar and Naime Johnson. Ellen joined the CWAC at the age 18. While in service (WWII) Ellen met a handsome serviceman, Robert (Bob) William Montgomery of Woodstock, whom she married following the war. They lived for several years in Woodstock before relocating to a small farm in Embro. Ellen is pre-deceased by her parents, siblings Mabel, Margaret and Wilmer, and by her beloved "Montgomery!". Loved by her siblings Alice Light (Jack) of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Violet Innes (Doug) of Ingersoll, Nancy Slager (late Charles), Gerald Johnson (Betty) of Beatty, Sask. Loved and celebrated by her children Donna Hiuser-Garner (late Paul Hiuser, late Ross Garner) of Embro, J. Richard Montgomery (Kathy Walk) of Embro, Randy Montgomery of London, Cherished and celebrated by her Grandchildren Paula Hiuser of Laconia, NH, Tracy Hiuser of Embro, Angela Montgomery and her children Julia and Jaxon, Chelsey Montgomery of London, Kierstin Montgomery of Embro and Chantal Montgomery of London. Also celebrating her memory are Joanne Montgomery, Peter Herz, Bill Bald, and many other friends and extended family members. The family wishes to thank Dr. Onoshenko and the nursing team at Woodstock Hospital (Complex Care) for their wonderful and respectful care. A time of visitation with the family will be held at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday November 8, 2012 from 7-9 pm. A funeral service to honour Ellen's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11:00 am. A private interment will be held in the North Embro Cemetery.
