HAWES, Ellen F. - At her residence on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, Ellen "Chick" F. Hawes (nee Messenger) of Caressant Care, Woodstock, in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Thomas "Tom" Alfred Hawes (2010). Dear mother of Randy Hawes (Mary-helen McIsaac) and Judy Millard (Stan), all of Woodstock. Loved grandmother of Krista Healy (Ryan) of California, Cameron and Heather Hawes of Woodstock, Jeff and Cory Millard of Haida Gwaii, B.C. Cherished great grandmother of Kalina Healy, Hylas and Showyn Millard. Dear sister of Jessie Moffat and sister-in-law of Doris Messenger. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughter Vickie Hawes (1949), and by her siblings William, Edward, John Messenger, Cay Edwards and Lillian Laurenceson. Friends will be received at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home (formerly Longworth Funeral Home), 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, (519-539-0004) on Monday, June 13, 2011 after 10:00 am where the memorial service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place. Interment later in Ingersoll Rural Cemetery. In honour of their late daughter Vickie, memorial contributions may be made to the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Canada (cheques accepted).
