Elizabeth "Betty" (Hoiting) Horinga

Betty Horinga, our dear sweet Mom, grand and great grandma, sister, aunt, friend to many went to heaven to be welcomed by so many she dearly loved including her beloved husband Hank (2019) with whom she was married to for 62 years, her cherished grandson Joshua (2011) and loving granddaughter Stacey (2017). An amazing Mom to 10 kids; Coby (Harry) Knibbe, Jake (Ann) Horinga, Jenny (George) Vanderveen, Martha (Luke) Sikkens, Geraldine (John) Bouwers, Sid (Jeannette) Horinga, Liz (Bruce) Zantingh, Henry (Sue) Horinga, John Horinga, Jeff (Marcia) Horinga. She had 32 grandkids and 30 great grandkids, all of them she truly adored! Betty was born Elisabeth Hoiting, the daughter of Sikke and Jacoba Hoiting born in Hoogkerk the Netherlands. She was the 6th child of 8 children,  sister to Martha (Fred) Visser; Klass (Jo) Hoiting; Lies (Jaap) DeVries; Peter (Henny)(Tena) Hoiting; Ray (Willy) Hoiting; Siep (Dini) Hoiting and sister-in-law to Don Vandermeer; sister to Anne (Bernard) Evers, also sister-in-law to Geert (Jitske) Horinga; Wiebe (Sally) Horinga; Grace (Henry) Kikkert; Jeanette (Fred) Scheltema; Bill (Margaret) Horinga, many of whom who are already in heaven. She will be dearly missed by her sister Anne (Bernard), Sister-in-law Dini, Willy, Tena, Jeanette, brothers-in-law Bill and Henry.  Loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews, friend and grandma to many others she loved dearly. We always saw Mom’s joy, love and faith shining through in all she did. We have all been touched and shaped by her love and are so grateful for her presence in our lives and the time we got to spend with her. Mom and her kind heart and huge hugs will be truly missed by all of us. Friends are welcome to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Wednesday December 28, 2022, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and again from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at the Maranatha Christian reformed Church on Thursday December 29, 2022, at 1:00 pm.
