SMITH - At the Woodstock General Hospital on Wednesday July 16, 2008. Edward Smith, also known as "Ed" and "Ted" of Woodstock in his 70th year. Cherished husband of Pam M. Smith (nee Allen) for 48 wonderful years. Loved father of Gary Smith and his wife Sue of St. Thomas and Janette Smith of Woodstock. Dear grandfather of Tony and Brent Wallace and Andrew and Chelsea Smith. Loved brother of Jean Beck of England and sisters-in-law Yvonne Smith and Barbara Bailey. Predeceased by his brother John Smith and brother-in laws Phil Beck and Denis Bailey. Edward served in the Coldstream Guards in London, England. Friends are invited to join with the family for a memorial visitation at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday July 18, 2008 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Cremation has taken place. Ed's requested that in lieu of flowers, any expressions of sympathy be made in the form of a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated.
