TOOHEY, Edith At the London Health Sciences Centre - Victoria St. Campus on Monday February 10, 2014. Edith Marie (nee Shaffelburg) Toohey of Chieftain St., Woodstock and formerly of Simcoe St., Woodstock in her 79th year. Beloved wife of Larry "Honey" E. Toohey for over 57 years. Dear mother of Crystal Drost and her husband Henry, Lorrie Varga and her husband Joe and Tobin Toohey all of Woodstock. Loved grandmother of Scott, Kassandra (Travis), Courtney, Aaron, Jacob, Joshua, Deidre, Braden and great grandmother to Sophia. Edith will be remembered by several sisters-in-law, Brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her son Lawrence, brother Clarence, Sister Doris Gowan and by her parents Arthur and Lillian Shaffelburg. Edith and her husband have been long time members of Church of the Epiphany where Edith had served with the ACW for many years. She was a past member of All Saints Anglican Church and along with her husband were owner operators of Tooheys Carpet Barn in Woodstock. In her later years Edith could be found helping with many functions and charities including the Soup Kitchen at First Baptist Church or the kitchen at South Gate Senior Centre. Edith was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday February 14, 2014 from 7-9 pm, where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 11:00 am with Reverend Dr. Stephen Hendry officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment later in the St. Mary's Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to Leukaemia Research, Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children or the Critical Care Unit at Victoria Hospital, London would be appreciated.
