Mc CARTNEY, Edith - Peacefully at her residence on Wednesday January 25, 2017. Edith (nee Best) McCartney of People Care Nursing Home, Tavistock and formerly of Grant St., Woodstock in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late D. Bruce Mc Cartney (2008). Dear mother to Nancy Hamilton and her husband John, late John Mc Cartney and his wife Maureen and Patricia Moulton and her late husband Tom. Loved grandmother of Reid, Sean, Spencer, Trevor, Deb, Susan, Alyson, Tom and great grandmother of great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Jeremiah and Annie (nee Wood) Best, by her brothers; Steve and Tom Best, her sister Dorothy,and by her infant son Thomas (Tommy) at six months . Edith was a past member of Old St. Paul's Anglican Church, a founding member of Multiple Sclerosis Society, Oxford County Chapter, she was Regent of Havelock Chapter I.O.D.E and was a strong advocate for the awareness of Elder Abuse. A private family service was held at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Woodstock, 519-539-0004. Interment will be held in the Beachville Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to the M.S.
