BRUCE, Edith (nee Fraser formerly Towle) - Passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 22nd, 2015 at Caressant Care Woodstock in her 100th year. Dear mother of Shirley (Don) Hewlett, Mary (Bill) Wilson, Margaret Ross and Tom (Karen) Towle. Loving grandmother, great grandmother, great, great grandmother of many and she was most proud of having lived to see 5 generations. Missed by sister and brother in-law Cliff and Fran Bruce and niece Doris Towle. Edith is predeceased by her mother and father Margaret and John Fraser, infant daughter Betty Jean Towle, husbands Edward Towle and Howard Bruce. Sister and brother in-law Irene and Alex Matheson also Melvin Fraser, Clarence John Fraser, Stewart (Sadie) Fraser, Lorne (Alice) Fraser, Harold (Dorothy) Fraser, nephew Donny Towle and son-in-law Eugene Ross. Edith was a life member of the West Oxford United Church and attended the Dundas United Church in Woodstock as well. Edith was a wonderful cook, seamstress, dancer, flower arranger and made lovely jewellery. She volunteered many hours at many charitable events in her community often delivering Meals on Wheels and also driving the seniors van for people much younger than herself. Friends are invited to join the family for a time of visitation at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004, on Wednesday December 30th, 2015 from 10-12am with a service fullowing at 12pm.
