Earle John Chesney

CHESNEY Earle John - An ambitious man with a friendly disposition passed away in his 93rd year at Woodstock Hospital on September 14th, 2016. Earle will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 70 years, Katherine (Cross) Chesney. He was a wise and wonderful father to John and his wife Jane Chesney. An adored Grandpa to Alison Chesney (Adam Lind) and Matthew Chesney. Recently Earle was blessed with a great granddaughter, Zoe Lind. Earle is survived by his dear sisters and brothers-in-law Helen and Reg Murray and Shirley and Bill Crosby. He will be remembered and missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and neighbours. Earle was predeceased by his dear sister and brother-in-law Jean and Earle Shoemaker. Earle was born on December 27, 1923 to Fred and Eva (Sherman) Chesney. He lived in the Innerkip area all his life. Earle farmed on Oxford Road 29 since 1936 and was a bus driver for 35 years with Southern Ontario Trailways Bus Lines, Drumbo and Scott Bus Lines, Innerkip. Earle was energetic and took great joy in pumpkin and vegetable marketing with his grandchildren. He was also well known in the community for his bicycle sales and service. A celebration of Earle's life will be held at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock 519-539-0004 on Monday September 19th, 2016 at 2pm. Visitation one hour prior to service. Reverend Maya Landall will officiate. Private interment at Innerkip Cemetery. Honoured pall bearers are Matthew Chesney, Adam Lind, Fred Shoemaker, Bob Shoemaker, Randy Crosby and Doug MacLachlan.
