Durk Schette Ypma

YPMA, Durk Schelte – Passed away peacefully on Sunday December 13th, 2020 at Woodstock Hospital. Durk was in his 81st year. Loving husband of the late Carole Ympa (2018). He will be missed by his siblings Case (Antoinette) Ympa, Susie Boersma, Kitty Ypma, Theo (Gretha) Ypma, Annie Post (Martin Jorna), Schelte Ypma, Gerard (Adrie) Ypma, Bettie (Piet) Bruggenkamp along with many nieces and nephews. Durk is predeceased by his parents Theo and Anne Ypma, brother Peter Ypma and sister Trees Westerooorde. Durk enjoyed the outdoors, working in the garden and flowerbeds and camping at Happy Hills. He was born in Greonterp, a small village in Friesland, the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1959. Durk was a very talented metal worker and could make just about anything out of steel. A sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Chartwell Oxford Gardens for their excellent care of Durk.
