Douglas "Doug" Garry Parker

PARKER, Douglas Garry – At rest in the arms of Jesus at the Woodstock Hospital, on Thursday, February 4, 2021 in his 81st year.  Beloved husband of Hazel Isabella Parker (nee Watson) for over 57 years.  Loving father of Bob Parker (Ruth) of Nova Scotia, and Beth Parker of Montreal.  Cherished grandfather of Allen (Charity), Ethan (Eva), Grace, Gordon, and great-grandfather of Dawn, Caliah, Thomas, Tirzah, and Lillian. Loved uncle of many nieces and nephews. Throughout his life Doug faithfully served his Saviour, Jesus Christ, in many roles. They include being the founding Pastor of Newcastle Baptist Church, interim pastor and deacon of South Zorra Baptist Church, Chaplin for Transport for Christ, pulpit supply for local small churches, and most recently a faithful member of Faithway Baptist Church.  Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Doug’s life will take place at a later date.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Transport for Christ or the Alzheimer Society of Oxford and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004).
