Douglas Schermerhorn

SCHERMERHORN- On Wednesday May 16, 2007, Douglas Franklin Schermerhorn of Woodstock in his 63rd year. Beloved husband of Sharon Schermerhorn (nee Kenney) and loving father of Michael Schermerhorn of Woodstock. Dear brother of John and his wife Mary and Jean White and her husband Murray all of Woodstock. He will be missed by his brothers-in-law Darwin Beckham of Woodstock and William Kenney and his wife Janet of London and sisters-in-law Sally Carter and her husband Doug, Sandra Hoover and her husband Bob, and Susan Carter and her husband Paul all of Woodstock. Also survived by his aunt Margaret Taugher and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by his infant son Steven (1975), sister Marion Beckham (1995), parents Verna Schermerhorn (1994) and George Schermerhorn (1972), and by his uncle Wilbert Taugher (2006). Doug was employed at Lafarge Canada for over 30 years. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Friday May 18, 2007 from 7-9 pm where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 11:00 am with Rev. David Snihur officiating. Interment in Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions to the Woodstock General Hospital Building Fund would be appreciated.
