Douglas Howard Mcclure

McCLURE- It is with great sorrow- But peace knowing that Douglas Howard McClure in his 55th year passed away after a horrendous battle with brain cancer, which he fought with unbelievable courage, great dignity and until his last breath thinking of others. Is now at peace and his suffering has ceased, as on this day Monday August 20th 2001. He went home to be with his Lord. "Absent from the body, present with the Lord." Devoted husband of Peggy McClure (nee Lediet). Loving and loved father of Scott & Kathy McClure of Woodstock and Stephanie Fiona McClure at home. Precious grandfather and best buddy of Colton Scott McClure. Much loved son of Howard John McClure of Woodstock and the late Edith Marion McClure (nee Hough) (1978). Special brother of Dianne Smith of Woodstock and Marion & Blake Kramer of R.R.# 1 Woodstock. Special uncle to Amanda of Ottawa, Marnie of London and Jessica of Woodstock. Loved nephew of Rose Hamilton of Woodstock. He will be sadly missed by aunts, uncles and cousins in St. Thomas, Tillsonburg, Woodstock and area. "To know him was to love him." Longworth Funeral Home 845 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock, 539-0004 Tuesday 7-9 pm and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm where the funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:30 pm with Pastor Don Whitelaw officiating.
