Douglas H. Gunn

November 2, 1920 — December 3, 2005

GUNN- With his family by his side at Woodstock General Hospital on Friday December 2, 2005, Douglas "Doug" H. Gunn of Woodstock in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Marjorie J. Gunn (nee Podger) for nearly 60 years. Dear father of Nancy Tuovinen and her husband Roy of Woodstock and Barb Schram and her husband Russell of RR# 6, Woodstock. Loved grandfather of David (Becky) and Adam. Dear brother of Harold Gunn and his wife Win of London, brother-in-law of Alice Gunn of Woodstock and Stanley Podger of Scarborough and survived by his niece Cynthia (Jim) and by his nephews Bruce (Tammy) and Jim (Chris). Predeceased by his brother Ross and by his sister Winnifred Perry. Doug was the oldest surviving member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Woodstock, served in the Canadian Armed Forces with the R.C.R. during W.W.II., was a letter carrier with Canada Post for over 30 years and was involved for many years with the Woodstock Navy Vets. Friends may call at the R. D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., (539-0004) on Monday December 5, 2005 from 7-9 pm where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday at 3:30 pm with Rev. John vanVliet officiating. Interment in the Presbyterian Cemetery. Contributions to the Presbyterian Cemetery or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. A legion service under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 55, Woodstock will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening at 6:30 pm.
