CRAWFORD - Gone to be with his Lord, peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday October 1, 2009 at the Woodstock General Hospital. Douglas "Doug" Lewis Crawford of Caressant Care, Woodstock and formerly of RR# 4, Woodstock in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Jean B. (nee Wettlaufer) Crawford for over 59 years. Dear father of John and his wife Carolyn of Ingersoll and the late Brian Crawford (2007) and his late wife Hendrika Meyer (1996). Loved grandfather of the late Lisa Crawford (1992), Connie Loker (Justin), Adele Sam, Sarah Meagher (Wayne) and great grandfather of Derek Loker, Rebekah Loker and Shaunaughsey Meagher. Dear brother of Dorothy Rohrer ( late Elgin), brother-in-law of Irene Crawford-Siano, Gladys Crawford and survived by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings Cecil (Vera), Gordon (Hazel), Ken, Gertrude Langdon (Bill), Russell, Alma Crawford and Alvin "Tony". Doug worked as a Journeyman, millwright and a tool and die maker for many years. He was employed at Standard Tube for over 23 years, Crawford Machine and Foundry for 26 years and Timberjack for three years. Doug enjoyed his time spent with family, bird watching, making bird houses and whirly gigs. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock on Sunday October 4, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 1:00 pm with Pastor Alan Calcutt officiating.
