Dorothy Jean Kuntze, 85, passed away Thursday, March 12th at Woodingford Lodge following a lengthy battle with Dementia.
Born at London on October 17, 1935 she was the youngest daughter of the late George and Lillian Atkins. Her husband, Irvine Kuntze passed away January 19, 2006 a few months short of their 50th anniversary.
Dorothy worked at Harvey Woods in Woodstock and Sentry Department Store in Windsor for 15 years prior to retirement and was an active member for many years at St. David’s United Church (Woodstock), St. James United Church (Windsor) and finally at Church of the Nazarene (Woodstock). She was also a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Surviving are three sons, Roger of Windsor, Gordon (Susan) of Bradford and Allen (Helen) of Tavistock. Also three grandchildren, Amanda (Duncan) of Abbotsford, BC, Andrew (Rachel) of Barrie and Kathryn (Spencer) of Barrie. Also two great grandchildren, Elcy and Nate (Andrew and Rachel)
The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff and management at Woodingford Lodge Woodstock for their excellent loving care of Dorothy throughout her stay there.
An open visitation will be held at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 pm followed by internment at Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. (Guests must RSVP in advance online for the visitation and the service.)
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Church of the Nazarene, Canadian Diabetes Association, or Canadian Mental Health Association. Expressions of love and sympathy may be placed and viewed online at www.brockandvisser.com
