Dorothy Isabell Day

DAY, Dorothy Isabell (nee Gard) - Passed away peacefully,  at Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock on Friday, December 20th  2019 in her 99th  year.   Beloved wife of the late Bruce Ferguson Day (2019) for over 72 years.   Devoted mother of Bruce Brian Day, Glen Day (Judy Palansky), Sheila Ann Hartley (Bruce Nelson), and Neil Day. Cherished grandmother of Jessica Hartley (Kyle Millar) and Craig Hartley (Jenn). Proud great grandmother of  Everly and Charlotte Hartley. Dear sister in-law of Vance (late Irene) Day. Predeceased by her brother Donald Gard (Ruth) and twin brother George Gard (Mona) and by her niece Carolyn Arneill. Also remembered by many nieces, nephews and extended family members.  Dorothy was a Registered Nurse who trained in Stratford, and worked at Woodstock General Hospital until starting a family and assisting with the family farm.  Dorothy had a radiant smile and loved gardening, baking, sewing, music, playing scrabble and crokinole.  She was a longtime member of Knox United Church, Embro.   Friends and relatives are invited to join the family on Sunday, December 29th 2019 at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock,  from 2- 3:30 pm. to celebrate Dorothy`s life.  Interment later at North Embro Cemetery.
