Doris Catherine (Pearson) Smith

SMITH- Doris (nee Pearson)- With our blessing, at Bonnie Brae Nursing Home in Tavistock, surrounded by compassionate care and the presence of her family, on July 3rd 2009 in her 93rd year, Doris joined her beloved Mac to resume their "journey" together. Doris lived her life through and in support of her family. Caring daughter of the late Frank and Minnie Pearson. Loving wife of Mac (2003) for over 62 years, and committed partner in his business, the M.D. (Mac) Smith Funeral Home, for over 30 years. Devoted mother of Linda Moore, - but most especially, a proud and attentive grandma of David (Suzette), Tyler (Kelly) Moore, and Jenny (Chad) Harmer, who brought her so much joy in her later years. She would of found delight also in her 5 great grandchildren, Aidan and Mac Moore, Maggie and Tyler McGregor, and Alexandra Harmer. She was the last remaining member of her family having been predeceased by brothers Lloyd, Jack and Glen and her sister Ferne Stewart. She is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law Norma Pearson, Margaret Mueller, Marcia Smith, Mildred and Trevor Slater and Bill and Helen Smith, and her many nieces and nephews. She had many fond memories of times and travels spent with her extended family. We will miss you, but are comforted that you are now at peace. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Doris's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society. A memorial service in her honour will be held at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, (519-539-0004) on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 11 am with Pastor Betty Jean Page officiating.
