Donna Marie (Pettit) Rogers

Rogers, Donna Marie (née Pettit) - Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, October 22nd, 2021 at Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock in her 87th year. Donna was born April 16, 1935 in Woodstock, ON and was the only child to Aubrey Pettit (1995) and Anne Pettit (née Howgego) (1978). Loved mother of Susan (Nelson Samworth), Shelley (John Donlevy) and Ron. Mother-in-law of Dave Tucker and Jeanette MacDonald. Cherished grandmother of Amy (Ryan Pollock) Samworth, Ryan (Erin) Samworth, Matt Tucker, Derek (Sheena) Tucker, Jenna Witmer (late Ryan 2019) and Wyatt Rogers. Sadly missed by her great grandchildren Hannah Polllock, Benji Tucker, Zoey, Ella and Brayden Samworth, Quinton, Landon Tucker, and Clara and Jules Witmer. Donna will be fondly remembered by her special cousins June Wilkins, Joan Craven, Gary (Susan) Kerr, Judy Lane, and Darlene Bradley and her 2 remaining poker buddies Madeline Douglas and Lynne Sutherland. Donna loved to play cards, Bingo, scratch tickets and spending time with the "One Armed Bandits."

From a young age Donna was competitive and loved her sports, playing on school volleyball and basketball teams and later bowling on the inner-city team. She enjoyed golfing at the Woodstock Golf Course and spent many years as a member of the Woodstock Curling Club. Her last love of sports would come on Sundays watching football closely to determine how she would make out on her Navy Club "picks".

Although Donna was full of life and loved to have fun with family and friends she worked hard from her early days at the "Massey" before her medical career at WGH X-Ray dept, followed by working for Dr. Blackwood, Dr. Smith and finally Dr. Kruger.  She would retire in 1994 to her mobile home at Princess Huron Park until she returned to Woodstock in 2003.

Donna will always be remembered for her "playful" smile and "infectious" laugh singing her jingles and always loving a "dirty" joke.

Keeping to Donna’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. If desired, memorial contributions to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home (519-539-0004).
