Donna Mary Hewitt

Donna Mary Hewitt, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away suddenly at her home on February 22, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on June 12, 1944, in Mount Forest, Ontario, Donna was the cherished daughter of the late Elmer and Mary Love.

A registered nurse by profession, Donna dedicated many years to her career, serving communities in London, and Mount Forest, and spending an impressive 24 years at the Woodstock General Hospital. Her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to her patients made a lasting impact on those she cared for.

Donna's life was marked not only by her professional accomplishments but also by her deep love for her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Sidney Hewitt, with whom she shared a marriage of 57 years since their union in 1967. She was a proud mother to her son Blake (Jennifer) and her daughter Cara Lee. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Kaylee and Hannah, who brought immense joy to her life.

In addition to her immediate family, Donna is remembered by her siblings, Rayburn Love (Suzanne) and Eleanor Schwartzentruber (Richard), as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family who admired her warmth and kindness. She held a special place in the hearts of friends, many of whom felt fortunate to have known her.

A passionate reader, Donna loved to immerse herself in her books. She enjoyed traveling, particularly relishing her winter breaks in Florida, where she sought to bask in the sunshine and create cherished memories.

The community is invited to honor Donna's life at visitation services taking place on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004). Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Davids United Church, 190 Springbank Avenue North, Woodstock, ON, followed by a memorial service at the same location starting at 12:00 PM. A reception will take place in the hall when the service concludes. 

Donna Mary Hewitt will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of her family and friends, as they carry forward her legacy of love, compassion, and kindness.
