Donna Lynne Alexander

ALEXANDER, Donna Lynne – Passed away peacefully at People Care Nursing Home in Tavistock, Ontario on Friday, October 29th, 2021, in her 78th year. Loving wife of Bill Alexander for over 58 years. Much loved mother of the late Jamie (2008) (Brenda) Alexander, Scott (Heather) Alexander and Sheri (Paul) Gareau. Beloved grandmother of Laura (Mike) Davis, Paul, Alex, Nick, Sophie, Mac, Dean and Jay. Cherished sister of Norma (Stan) Stanhope and the late Kerry Cameron in infancy. Donna will also be remembered by her sister-in-law Merna Alexander and the late Fred Alexander (2021) along with several nieces and nephews. Donna contributed greatly to her community.  She came to Hickson at the young age of 17 to teach and that is where she met and married Bill.  Over the years she continued to supply teach in Hickson and judged children's art at the Tavistock Fall Fair.  Donna loved being a librarian at the Hickson Library, and worked at the Hickson Post Office for 16 years.  Friends are invited to meet with the family at a "Drive Through Visitation" on Thursday, November 4th from 2-5 pm at the Alexander family farm, 495966 10th Line, East Zorra-Tavistock.  There will be a private family interment at Oxford Memorial Cemetery to be officiated by Barbara Hicks.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to People Care in Tavistock, the Canadian Lung Association, or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004.
