Donald "Mike" Poole

POOLE, Donald "Mike" - Surrounded by love at the Woodstock Hospital on Thursday November 6, 2014 in his 82nd year to be with his Savior he loved. Beloved husband of Grace Marie (nee Henderson) Poole for over 58 years. Loved father to Karen Savelle and her husband Scott, Vicki Lawson and her late husband Mark (2010) and Jodi Poole (Allen Forsey). Cherished grandfather of Rachel, Sierra, Amanda, Tori and Jessica. Dear brother of Ross (Blanche) Poole, Doris Deborghraeve, Glenna (Gary) Kaufman, Robert (Lorraine) Poole and brother-in-law of Sylvia Henderson. Predeceased by his siblings: Glenford Poole and Barb McKim. Mike was an active member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Woodstock where he served as a Board of Trustees member, Board of Stewards member and has been a Senior Elder since 1967. He was also involved with the Woodstock Museum Board and the Oxford County Geological Society. Mike may be best known for his 55 year contribution to Scouts Canada, caretaker of the Presbyterian Cemetery and was a crossing guard locally for over 19 years. For the last eleven years, Mike and Grace found relaxation at their trailer at Happy Hills. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Monday November 10, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service to honour Mike's life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 59 Riddell St., Woodstock on Tuesday at 1:30 pm with Rev. Mark McLennan officiating.
