MCDONALD, Donald - Gently and peacefully at Sakura House on Sunday July 8, 2018 with his son at his side, Donald Harold McDonald was in his 79th year. Predeceased by his wife Margaret Ann McDonald (1996). Proud father of Drew (Andrew) McDonald (Christine Emery) and Poppa Don to Bryson, Curtis and Lucas McDonald. Dear son of the late Joseph and Jean (nee Waugh) McDonald and son-in-law of Harold and Jean (Bassett) Major. Don is survived by his siblings Connie (John) Hislop, Shelley(Paul) McCutchen, Bud (Diane) McDonald, Mary McDonald, brother-in-law Gerald Millard, sister-in-law Doris McDonald, sister-in-law Betty (Dave) Mathers, brother-in-law Chuck (Janice) Major and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Ernie McDonald, Charles McDonald and sisters Jeannette Millard, Sharlene Mitchell and brother-in-laws Bill Mitchell, Donald Deschenes and sister-in-law Ruth Anne McDonald. Don was a long time employee of Fisher Controls and a proud crossing guard for the City of Woodstock for 17 years. He lived for his dogs Bishop, Jax and each of the hundreds of smiling students he met while crossing Vansittart Avenue daily. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to share Don's memory at the Quality Inn Hotel, 580 Bruin Blvd., Woodstock on Sunday July 15, 2018 from 3-5 pm.
