Dirkje (Cuiper) Bruines

BRUINES - At her residence on Thursday December 6, 2007. Dirkje Bruines (nee Cuiper) of Caressant Care, Woodstock and formerly of James St., Woodstock in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Hendrik Bruines (1996). Dear mother of Maarten and his wife Shirley of Brantford, Corrie Burke and her husband Allan of Bealton and Henry and his wife Grace of Woodstock. Loved grandmother of Michael, Steve, Jamie (Melanie), Jennifer, Tim (Amanda), Brian (Jennifer), Wendy (Derek), Chris (Sarah) and great grandmother of Lea, Spencer, William and Owen. Also survived by her sister-in-law Annie Cuiper of Holland and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughter Cornelia , by her son Hendrik Anthony and by two brothers and two sisters. Dirkje was a longtime member of Emmanuel Reformed Church, Woodstock and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Sunday December 9, 2007 from 2-4 pm and on Monday at the church after 12:30 pm. A funeral service will be held at Emmanuel Reformed Church, 170 Clarke St., Woodstock on Monday at 1:30 pm with Rev. Case Koolhaus officiating. Interment in the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery.
