On August 14th without the opportunity to say goodbye, we make peace with the fact that Dad/Dave/Colby/Papa/Grandpa/Papa Wheelchair has passed. He is survived by his children. Ryan, Tracy, Ginger and Amanda.
He was such a strong man. Had been through hell and back more than we can all count. Yet, he was always smiling, always snapping his fingers, singing and dancing for us. Always.
We wish your grandchildren had more time with you, and for some, anytime with you before your stroke limited your abilities to speak or move. You would have been such and involved papa.
You gave great hugs, enjoyed very short visits, swore fluently in every situation no matter how inappropriate LOL, and loved big. Loved so big.
A lover of family above all, but also a proud navy man, a member of the navy club and colour guard in Woodstock for many years. He loved playing baseball as a pitcher and worked at Thomas bus for many years until his battle with his health began. He loved all sports and was seen down at southside park cheering on teams often. He loved hats. Ohhh the hats. We will take good care of them Dad.
We will miss you so much. Until we meet again….as always at the end of any of our visits, “Well, thank you very much”. *insert sloppy kisses* We love you.
