David Andrew Gilchrist

GILCHRIST, David Andrew - At St. Joseph's Hospice, London on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, with family by his side, Dave surrendered to his 13.5 year battle in his 52nd year. Dave leaves behind, his devoted and loving wife Sandy, and his children Lauren Hartwick (Matt) and Cameron Gilchrist as well as grandbaby Hartwick. He was the son of Barbara Gilchrist and the late Bob Gilchrist, brother of Monica MacKay (Don), Wayne Gilchrist, Donna Sheridan (Tim), and Don Gilchrist. Brother-in-law of Dan Jones (Jacqui), and Sue Carter (Jim). Fun loving uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dave will also be missed by his best friend Matt Phelps. Predeceased by his parents-in-law Ross and Marg Jones, niece Rebecca Jones and sister-in-law Sue Guthro. Dave's passion was being an automotive technician and volunteer firefighter for Thames Centre, Thorndale Dept. He will be missed by all his colleagues and his friends from the Brain Tumour Support Group. Dave loved life and fought hard, always with a smile on his face. Friends may join the family on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 2:30-4:30 and 7-9pm at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, Thamesford Chapel, 177 Dundas St., Thamesford, (519-285-2427). The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 3, at 1:30pm at the Westminster United Church, 115 George St., Thamesford, with Rev. Dr. Sheila Macgregor officiating. Interment in the Zion Cemetery with reception to follow at the Thorndale Community Centre. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph's Hospice, London and may be arranged through the funeral home.
