Darlene Gail Arthurs, a cherished soul, passed away suddenly on August 7, 2024, at Woodstock Hospital. Born on July 29, 1955, in Calgary, Alberta, Darlene's life was a tapestry of love, service, and artistic expression.
Darlene's journey began as the beloved daughter of her parents, Alfred and Margaret Glubrecht and grew into a life rich with family and community connections. On January 20, 1996, she married Roger Arthurs, and together they blended a family that would be the center of her world. She was a devoted mother to Corinne (Brian) Hill and Kevin Hill, a loving stepmother to Ruth and the late Jessica Arthurs, and a doting grandmother to Samantha, Selena, the late Breanne, Nate, Conner, Molly, Violet, Liam, and Jordan. The joy of her family expanded with the arrival of 7.5 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought a new sparkle to her eye.
Darlene's siblings, Diane (Bill) Goodrich, Gordon (Danielle) Glubrecht, and the late Anthony Glubrecht, shared in the many chapters of her life, creating memories filled with laughter and support. Her extended family of nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart, each one cherished for their unique bond with her.
Her commitment to her community was evident through her tireless volunteer work and her involvement with the ladies' auxiliary at the Legion. Darlene's hands were rarely still, as she found joy in catering events, ensuring that every gathering was both beautiful and delicious.
Beyond her service, Darlene's passions were woven into every aspect of her life. An avid knitter and needlepoint enthusiast, she created countless pieces that reflected her love for crafts. Her obsession with Kinder Eggs was more than a sweet tooth; it was a testament to her playful spirit and love for the simple joys in life.
Darlene's legacy is one of love, creativity, and community. Her life was a reflection of her belief in the power of kindness and the importance of family. As we remember Darlene, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and joy, a life that touched so many others in profound ways.
Her departure leaves behind a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her. Darlene's life was a beautiful journey that has now found its peaceful conclusion. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
