Daniel Patrick McNamara, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, at 71 years of age at Sakura House in Woodstock Ontario. Born on August 10,1953 in Ottawa, Ontario, Dan lived a full life, rich in family, friendships, and community involvement.
Dan is survived by his devoted spouse, Shannon (nee Kennedy), and his loving children: T.J. (Tracy), Sean, and Emily (Steve). His legacy continues through his 6 cherished grandchildren - James, Bentley, Levi, Brinnley, Hailey and Harvey, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. Also survived by sister Sharron Nash. We cannot forget that Dan was also a loving dog dad to Winnie Girl.
Dan was also an avid golfer, a longtime member of both Craigowan Golf Club and Heritage Palms in Fort Myers, Florida. Golf was a pastime that brought him both peace and camaraderie. His love for the game was matched only by his generosity, willingness to support those in need. His contributions to his community and the many lives he touched will be remembered for years to come. Through these affiliations, he formed lasting friendships that reflected his warm and outgoing personality.
Dan’s passion for life, commitment to family, and contributions to the community will be deeply missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the lessons he taught them through his actions—love, charity, laughter, and living life to its fullest.
Memorial Service will take place on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11am in the chapel at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock. For those unable to attend in person, Dan's service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website. A Celebration of Dan’s Life to follow from 1pm-3pm at Craigowan Golf and Country Club, 595838 Hwy 59 N, Woodstock, ON.
