DeGier, Cornelis - Gone to be with his Lord, Cornelis "Case" DeGier surrounded by his loving family, passed away peacefully at Sakura House, Woodstock on Saturday August 10, 2013 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Ida A. (nee van Oostveen) DeGier for over 59 years. Dear father of: Jo-Anne Veenstra (Jake) of Brooks, AB and their family Jocelyn (Dennis), Deona (Stephen), Timothy (Karly), Jeff (Janna); Harry DeGier (Shelley) of Hickson and their family Cody, Evan, Morgan; Annette Werkema (Frank) of Embro and their family Kevin (April), Michelle (Darryl), Laura (Phil), Jennifer; Ida Klein Geltink (Bruce) of Guelph and their family Matthew (Sarah), Kristin; Carol Verbeek (Dick) of Woodstock and their family David, Kara (Thomas), Jason; Marjorie Groeneweg (Bas) of St. Thomas and their family Melanie (Nathan), Karen, Justin (Olivia), Janice (Michael); Joyce DeGier VanderSpek (David) of Embro and their familyAndrew, Leah and Jonathan. Loved Opa of 15 great grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law to Thelma DeGier, Corrie van Oostveen, Jan van Oostveen, Roel (Annie) van Oostveen, Kryn van Oostveen, Annie (Peter) Geene, Wiynand (Sue-Anne) van Oostveen, Willie Ruiter (Sergio), Al DeVries, and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother and sister. His passion was his family and his Lord and Saviour. Case was a long time member and active supporter of Covenant Christian Reformed Church and was a long time dairy farmer in the Hickson area. Friends are welcome to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Tuesday August 13, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A memorial service will be held at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 410 Lansdowne Ave., Woodstock, on Wednesday at 1:30 pm with Pastor Bob Loerts officiating. Interment will have taken place in the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to the Woodstock Christian School would be appreciated.
